Words of Love Broadcast In Code is the second album by London-based group the Projects. Co-founding current members Graeme Wilson and Alex Lawton Mawdsley started the band in 2002 with erstwhile members Lisa, Mark, plus Morgane from Stereolab.
For this album Graeme and Alex have been joined by Ladytrons Mira Aroyo and Dino Gollnick, Comet Gains Phil Sutton, David O'Malley and that one-man-recordmaking-machine Edward Ball.
Words of Love Broadcast In Code is a journey through the thought processes of Graeme Wilson - a world where voices in Russian or Spanish coexist with English without losing intimacy or familiarity. Its musical formulas follow a constructivist pattern overlaid with utterances torn from the pages of a diary, fragile in their harshness.
Ultimately, these songs invoke lullaby qualities with a sense of melancholy found in the knowledge that theres an end to all things. All of which quite categorically proves that Graeme Wilson is one of the best songwriters in England today.
Available on Compact Disc in US and UK from Carrot Top and Revolver.
