David Max, guitar player of legendary freak-out band Psychic TV, has completed his first solo record, Simple Psychedelic Pleasures, comprised of 13 sonic half-dreams and adventures. Recorded in Jersey City, New Jersey and Basel, Switzerland, Simple Psychedelic Pleasures explores the nature of mind-revealing sounds and words. Included are 10 original songs and 3 covers. Drawing from all psychedelic musical movements past, David Max gives us something electric-hot and sweet. During this ride you will discover windy jangles, broken heart staring at the sun grooves, ferocious leads and heavy drones of accuracy. The subject matter includes the origins of society, love fantasies and their relationship to cosmic necessity, war and determinism, utopia, reverie, and the realization of divine self in the face of a brutal universe.
